Will the loan payment ever end?

I owed Elite R4000 at the beggining of July 2012 I made an arrangement to pay R300 each month which i have done ever since and never missed a payment, I asked for a statement on the 24/06/2013 almost a year after to see if i could settle the outstanding balance, and only to realise that I have a balance of R4200. Now if that's not a rip-off and cheating people then I am a pope.
