First National Bank
ATM Cheque and FNB taking money out

Business & Finance

A cheque was deposited into our account to pay for an item purchased from us. The cheque bounced a couple of days later. After phoning the line they were not even interested in our story and told us we have to report to the police. There is no records of who put the money into our account and I think this is totally wrong and not protecting the clients security at all. How can some random person put a "cheque" into our account and not even have any identity or recall. Now to top it off FNB has taken the same amount as the cheque out of our account and insisting that we go into our branch to reverse the amount. Why does this now become my problem. I work in far away from my branch and cannot just go there to "quickly" reverse this. Surely reporting it on the phone while someone is looking at my account can reverse it without the inconvenience of going into the branch. It was not my fault that my security was put at risk in the first place.
