Run while you still can

I have had Essential Med in chunks. I was booked into Bedford gardens last week after being pushed from pillar to post by essential med for hours. They gave me about 16 different numbers for authorisation. The one on the card is a emergency number only and not an authorisation number. Now I get a call from the hospital saying they submitted the claim to my medical aid and my medical aid said they must phone me.

Um last time I checked we have medical aid to pay the bills as we can not afford to pay a lump sum of thousands. I wish I could leave today but due to non disclosure to my husband, I was not aware that essential med is a medical insurance option and not a medical aid. Now I am pregnant and cant cancel at there is a 12 month waiting period on the medical aids. I dont need these problems and shocked at the service as you should also abide by the FAIS act. There is nothing fair nor just with the service we received. I would have been dead before authorisation was given if I was in an accident.
