Incompetent communication!

Recently I wanted to changed the date of my home loan. I was told that I could not do it over the phone, as it was more than 5 days. I was told that I had to send a letter... I decided to go into the bank, so that there could be no excuses from their side. A lovely consultant helped me to word a letter, which was faxed. I got the proof to say that it delivered.

My debit order went off on the same date, I phoned in and apparently 'their systems were down'. What a silly excuse to use for their own incompetence!!! How did I then receive proof of receipt??? How was I supposed to know that the faxes were down when I received proof of receipt?

This, after every time I need to do any banking, I get told the Call Centre Agents can't help and I need to go into the bank! What is even the point of having call centre agents. Oh. And the consultants can't help with home loans, so the only way to change a debit order date is by fax.

Pull up your socks. We do not live in the stone age.

I expect my debit order date to get ammended immediately. And I expect my debit order to be reversed, and for it to be debited on the correct date. So that I do not have to pay for Standard Bank's mistake.
