I went to Standard Bank Centurion Branch on the 2nd June to apply for a Personal Loan. I spoke to a consultant Ellene, who confirmed that the loan was approved and the loan would be paid to my cheque account in 24 hours.

I called the Statndard bank call centre (loans) on the 6th June (Thursday) to enquire about the payout, they confirmed the money wasnt paid but they would email the consultatnt at the branch to give me feedback.By Friday the 7th the money was still not paid and I still didnt receive any feedback from the Call Centre or from the branch.

This morning 10th June, I spoke to an agent on the number 0860 101 341 who again said he will get the consultants from the branch to call me but still no feedback. I decided to go to the branch at 13h15 to enquire about the loan, I spoke to Ellene again she said the lady who is responsible for releasing the funds is on sick leave and nobody else would be able to help. I asked if any other Manager could assist as I needed the funds urgently, she said it cant be done by anyone else as its done inhouse.

How is the bank making our lives simpler and better if they rely on one person to release funds.?
