On the 7th June 2013 my grandma, Mrs. MM Chuene, went to FNB branch in Limpopo Mall to update her account as was requested by the bank. She was assisted by a lady she didnt take her name, the consultant requested her to produce proof of residence which my grandma did, but it was rejected because only her 1 initial was on her account. She was sent to the Municipal offices (about 2km's away) to get it corrected. She did and returned with a copy of her water & lights account which had a Municipal stamp on and signed by the Municipal official who assisted her. When my grandma returned to the branch the tax invoice was also rejected and the reason given was "we dont have proof that the document is from the Municipality".

She is an elderly woman, 75years old, with all required documents, stamped and signed with a municipal stamp, strict or not, the old lady did provide what was requested by the bank assistant but still she wasnt helped. We do not always have to bad mouth FNB for its service but I feel this is just not fair. It is hurting to see our elderly being mistreated by so called "service consultants".
