38 DAYS TO WRITE OFF VEHICAL

Business & Finance

I had an accident on the 21 April 2013 and promptly lodged a claim (not my fault as the other party ran a stop sign). The vehical was towed away. Much to my surprise I was then as per my contract given a hire vehical, a Polo, please note I am a contractor and the vehical concerned was an LDV (WHICH I USE FOR WORK). I was informed that my vehical would be repaired as the repair cost would be 40 000, I continually called to check up on how the repair was progressing and was told 3 weeks, then was told they where waiting for parts, I then contacted the panelbeater (Danmar Autobody) and they did not have the vehical. Upon informing King Price of this I was informed that there had been a mixup and it would be sorted out. A week later I was concerned as the car hire was for 30 days only that we had run out of time. I was then informed on Thursday the 30 June that they where no longer going to repair the vehical. My question is why did it take so long and how can a repair go from 40 000 to over 100 000 that they no longer find it feasable to fix. I am still waiting for the transfer so that I can apply for finance on another vehical...
