DON'T INVEST WITH INVESTEC

My son, who lives in Canada, wanted his Investec investment paid out. Unfortunately Investec is unable to do payouts in foreign countries and suggested that the money should be ceded to me, I could then claim the money and pay it over to my son. Four months ago (at least) the process was started, all the forms completed and since then all I've had was idle promises of the process being in the works, which I don't doubt, but four months to transfer a very small investment? The process is being done by the call centre in Johannesburg which if frustrating as one never deals with the same consultant twice. The message I receive is always more or less to the same tune "Good day, Thank you for your email.
We have received the document and have forwarded it for processing." which is great, but inefficient.
I was warned by another son of mine who went through the same process, he used his attorney in the hope that matters would be settled sooner and without a long rigmarole, it was a nightmare! I've asked to be referred to someone with authority on occasion to no avail. Why this bureaucracy? In the mean time this investment hasn't't earned a cent's interest in this time.
