Hi! Applied for a new card as I needed to update details etc. It's a cheque card so when I went to fetch I got told it will be active immediately. Tried using it on 3 different machines today and all reported an error message. That was so embarrassing! Went into the gateway standard bank branch and got told that it needs 24 hours to be active.By this point I wanted to kill someone! I decided to call customer care, she says my account is active immediately because it's a cheque account. I had so much to do today thinking I could just swipe and now I'm delayed with doing what I had to. Standard bank, up your game or else close down! Your staff need to be trained accordingly because 2 of the 3 people I spoke to gave different stories! Very upset customer... looking at actually changing banks. I'm sure they'll be more clued up as to what they are offering etc.
