Penalty on claim

My son was in an accident and his claim was first rejected and later paid but with a catch. The reason that his claim was originally rejected was because he didnt change his address. He handed over his flat on 15 March in Lephalale and the accident took place on 27 March on the R21. He was penalized for not submitting a change of address with over R8000.00!! I think it is a joke, it was not even 15 days yet and actually he still works in both Centurion and Lephalale. The next accusation was that he was using his car for business use, because he travels between the site in Centurion where he actually works and his contractor's main office in Kempton Park. Are we not all using our cars to get to work and back?? Does that mean you cannot have 2 jobs, and if you do, you can only travel to one with the car? Please can someone explain this reasoning to me. I think that A&G was trying their utmost to get out of paying this claim and when it failed, they decided to pay the R8000.00 less. It is unethical but hopefully I will never have to deal with them, and we gave instruction to our broker to move all our insurance asap.
