First For Women Insurance
Taking advantage to the extreme!!!

Business & Finance

On 05/12/2011 My daughter bought car insurance for her Opal Corsa. With the household and other items that were added, the premium was R516.55 in total. The basic excess R 2750.00.
On the 13/09/2012 the policy was amended but the above details remained the same.

She has since had to put in a claim, and was suddenly told that the excess amount is R8200.00. When trying to ascertain when this happened, we were sent a copy of a letter dated 25/11/2012 stating that the premium would be increasing to R629.00. Out of the blue there is a page attached (NOT AN AMENDED POLICY) one paragraph stating that the excess had been increased to R8200.00.

Now... How can the premium INCREASE on a policy and at the same time, within the space of TWO months, the excess be increased from R2750 to R8200 - without any notification??? This is absolute daylight, which only suddenly comes to light AFTER you want to lodge a claim.

Over and above the excess, you have been most unhelpful... in some parts downright rude. When people are new to insurance, surely the idea should be to help them through the process and not brush them off. I would really appreciate some explanation
