Last week I went to FNB Menlyn (23 km from me) to open a cheque account as well as to apply for a consolidation loan due to the fact that my current bank gave me bad service.
I gave the lady proof of residence as well as my latest payslip and ID, she made copies of it. During the week I mailed all the necessary paper work to FNB to sort out the Debit orders and beneficiaries.
Today, I received my Gold Cheque Card, so I went to FNB Menlyn to activate my account and card. They want proof of residence, and ID to activate my card. I told the guy I gave everything to FNB Menlyn last week Tuesday.
No, the account was opened online, I must give them the necessary paperwork. I guess the lady did the application online for me, but will they have the nerve to tell me I didn't give them the paperwork!
The lady that I'm sure helped me last week say she didn't help me.
It is easy, look in the reception book to see who helped me last week. Sorry, they don't keep the book.?
The account isn't even activated yet and already I'm getting worst service from FNB than from my current bank.
FNB:
- cancel the new Cheque Account
- undo the debit order transfers
- cancel the personal loan
