I went to deposit money (R4989) on behalf of customer M S Galela at the Capitec Middestad Mall branch after 15:30 on Friday 03/05/2013. I was assisted by consultant no.1 (Lauren). I gave Lauren R4990 then she counted & confirmed the money was R4990. I told her I want to deposit R4989 then she told me she does not have change & that there are charges that will be added on. So i replied that i'm doing it on behalf of our customer. She told me to get change form next door & i was shocked to hear what she said because I also work with money and customers. I asked: "MUST I GET CHANGE? & does that mean you won't assist me? " she replied "yes otherwise will have to deposit the money as it is or you can come back after you got the change & you don"t have to queue just come straight back to me" I asked her again "Must I GO GET THE CHANGE? ". I went out of the branch angry to ask for change. I thought to myself its for a customer & did not have the time to complain & had to get back to work. I could not believe that she still answered by saying yes. I was angry, felt that I was underestimated & shocked that Lauren did not see anything wrong about the kind of service she gave.
