I have a vehicle finance agreement with ABSA. My monthly payment was increased without my consent two years into the agreement because ABSA sent out a letter to all clients which most clients did not receive, due to postal strike, notifying clients that they had to resubmit their insurance documents to prove insurance of assets. I have never not had my car insured, nor have I ever missed a payment on my car, nor have I received the letter from ABSA, nor have I seen a clause in the financing agreement that ABSA can slap on an additional insurance premium whenever they so wish. I believe this to be unscrupulous business conduct that ABSA clients should be aware of.
