Card transactions fail because ABSA can't do 3D

ABSA your Verified by VISA/3D secure is borked. I have been unable to place any foreign transactions with services which use Verified by Visa. An error is reported saying verification failed. No SMS was sent to my phone.
I tried this with NICOS Japan and another foreign service. You are a terrible disaster of a bank.

Calling the 012 number listed also doesn't work. I punched in option 2 and got silence. I guess your service is not available on public holidays.

ABSA I've banked with you from 1999 but now I am going to switch banks. This is the last straw. You are useless. To fail on this of most basic of functionality is beyond remediation.

Luckily my PayPal transactions went through as PP does not rely on your stupid Verified by VISA. I hope everyone leaves you.
