Discounted prices, what discounted prices?

The latest deal on the iPhone 5 illustrates Groupon's cheap & deceptive marketing ploy! How on earth can R8200 for a 16Gb iPhone imply a 70% saving, when the same phone on a contract can be had for about the same price but with R200 p/m of airtime still included (not to mention the easier monthly terms)? If they want to split hairs, the cash price of an iPhone 5 16Gb is R8600, so at best they can claim a 4.6% saving which you can make up in banking interest anyway! Each and every gadget offered through Groupons so-called discounted deals, has turned out to be nothing better than what could be found elsewhere! They're only good for the odd "massage", "aroma therapy", or "restaurant" deal! I'm removing myself from their mailing list, as the untruthful "gadget-offer" clutter isn't worth the odd eat-out discount I have used in the past!
