On 27 April 2013 we suffered a puncture on our way up from Bellview Dam into Cayley Lodge at the central Drakensberg. After exhaustively asking people for a pump to fill up the spare tyre, which was dangerously low, we went to the reception to get some help. The receptionist Chris had no solutions fOr us. We asked if the workshop person could help us. We were told it was closed. After speaking to some really helpful cleaning staff, we were told the maintenance person was on site. We went back to reception for a 3rd time and were told that no one was available and he couldn't leave his post to assist us. An employer who was leaving, then went to the maintenance person on our behalf and got him to inflate our tyre. When we returned to reception, it was closed with a notice in place. We found the staff that were doing general work were more of help than the receptionist, Chris. He has not made our stay pleasant and he is a poor advert for this institution.
