Overbooked

Arrived at OR Tambo to catch MN618 to Durban on Fri 25th.
Only to be told flight is full due to overbooking (over-sold) and will be put on the next flight 3 hours later.
After standing around for 30 mins was told by the manager my compensation would be a free flight excl taxes in lieu of overbooking in the form of a voucher.
Turns out the voucher is a measly R400 off base cost only and cant be used in conjunction with any other discount!
Basically equal to Vitality discount or less, so not compensation really.
2 issues:
1. Don't and say Ya its a free flight but you gotta pay taxes when in fact its just a voucher.
2. I should be allowed to use it in conjunction with my regular vitality discount, otherwise it's not helping me! Especially when some flights are costing 2K each way nowadays!
