THOMPSONS FUN CLUB MAURITIUS DOES NOT REALLY EXIST

I took up the Harvey tours offer to go to the Maurtius Villa Caroline Fun Club. It is very disappointing. The promised entertainment does not exist, apart from excursions to go on, which cost extra. It seems that the rep was desperately pushing us to go on excursions as they are aware that there is nothing going on.

Water sports consist of kyaking, peddle boat or snorkeling. There are no motorised water sports at the resort, and the equipment is well used and broken.

There are signs for beach volleyball and tennis but again nothing happens.

Evening entertainment consists of a small band who play songs for a hour and thereafter the guest reps play the stereo and try to get people to dance.

The food is mediocre. The previous nights leftovers are disguised as something else for lunch the following day. Fish called Mauritian style fish is simply hake as I would buy it from pick n pay, seasoned with fish spice etc.

After 3 days I moved to another well known resort after requesting a change of hotel from Thompsons. They gave me 4 options, all of which required additional payment and cost more than the offer I got from the other resort. They also did not refund me anything.
