We were a group of 11 guys over 40 that rented the Aloe Ridge Houses for a weekend, with a river trip included. On arrival, we were warned that there was another big group but that we were welcome to use the facilities. LAter that evening, we wanted to go down to the pub. I was informed that the other group were busy with a cocktail competition and that I would be contacted. Later we were called and the person mentioned we could come down if we did no cause any problems. I was horrified at this comment and the person apologised. We went down and after our forst drink were asked to leave as the large group felt they could no "let themselves go" with us there, so we left. We were charged for the drinks we did not finish. Please note the following.1) The gravel road to Swellendam is bad so that is not really an option.2) The facilities are NOT available to all. There is definitely an arrogance. Sorry Felix but our experience was not good!
