Umhlanga Cabs charges R45 per km

On Friday 10th May at 8:30 pm I called Umhlanga Cabs for a collection from my home on Umhlanga Rocks drive. The tele-operator said that a cab to Splashes restaurant in Glenashely would cost R180 for 4 people. He said it was "after hours" and that it could not be a metered cab. I was horrified to find that Splashes restaurant is approximately 4km's from my home. I called to complain but was told that I had agreed to the flat rate. I took the drivers details and the tele-operators name. I mailed Umhlanga Cabs on Monday 13th May - I have not had a response. Be careful when using these guys. Their service is shocking and they are rip off artists. I would expect more from an established cab company!
