How can Blackberry block music downloads??

Hi. How can Blackberry block us from downloading music?? I'm prepared to use a data bundle and pay for my music! Surely they should just stop FREE music downloads, not completely block us? When signing the contract they do NOT specify that we will not be able to download music! This is one of the reasons lots of people are moving away from Blackberry! I've spoken to a technician from Blackberry and he says they're debating the issue but no decision has been made yet! Unacceptable!! Pity i didn't go for Samsung rather!
