Very Irate Customer would rather cancel contract!

I have applied for an upgrade on a Samsung Galaxy tablet, yesterday evening when the store closed thereafter. However, this was the wrong phone that was given to me because of the wrong information supplied by the customer service representative, I phoned MTN early this morning after several attempts to get through to them as I want to "not cancel" but swop the Galaxy note 10.1 for the Galaxy Tablet that I initially wanted. I was told that this is not possible and that I cannot swop the phones.

I cannot afford R599 a month for a phone and therefore I wanted the contract which is R299 and MTN won't allow this to happen. My question is, if they are forcing me to keep this phone how will I pay for it???
Mtn contact number is 083 222 74 24. I would prefer to cancel this contract, should Mtn believe that this contract is "Impossible" to swop.
