Bad service after contract was finished

My 2 year contract ended Dec '12. I didn't want upgrade, new phone etc but they told me, I just can carry on the same way. i.e. monthly amount, certain airtime, sms's. Then I realised they charged me more, because the contract was finished I don't get the 'discounts'. Because I was NOT informed, I decided to go to pre-paid. I had to officially cancel the contract, which wasn't valid anyway! (another 20 business days before that is implemented). They put me on prepaid on 7th of Febr'13. They '' my available airtime (the cycle was till the 20th), took off another debit order which I had cancelled at the bank. I decided to port my number to 8ta. I went into MTN shop to ask what the outstanding balance was, so I could pay my debt. They were off line. They gave me a letter, saying that they were off line, without logo, date or signature.
AGAIN I went to the shop on 13 March to ask what the balance was as I had not received statements because of postal strike. They couldn't find me on the system!!
Next: phone call from MTN on 20 March 'threatening' to hand me over for R 70.39 balance. I told them they have already my airtime, write it off! I DID pay, don't want bad debts.
