Lumia 610 *111# not working

I got a 610 with my talking points upgrade. It did everything I wanted until I tried to use the *111# function. On returning to the branch I find out that Vodacom was aware of this problem in that they had written to the branches saying they had yet to enable the function on their system.

I complained on the Vodacom community forum only to be told this is a manufacturers defect. I find that hard to believe as the hash function works on the *100# balance check.

If Vodacom knew about this, as evinced by the information I was given why are they still selling this phone and not telling the customer? We can't transfer money, buy data bundles or any of the other features you access by the *111# function and of course now you can't return the phone.

Either Vodacom should fix this problem or they should issue a recall of the 610 and supply us with an equivalent phone.

I spend in excess of R20K per year on airtime/data and when this current balance runs out I am transferring to another carrier.
