Cannot get line installed

I ordered a name change for an existing no (at the property I newly purchased) plus installation of one additional line I intend to use for fax and ADSL at the Menlyn TELKOM shop (O/N 72318542). An SMS told me ADSL was set up on the existing no. Then a technician came, checked the line AND PROMPTLY CHANGED the no to a DIFFERENT number, but DID NOT INSTALL THE SECOND LINE requested. Since then, I have NO ADSL, am informed that I supposedly do have, that the order is completed and that billing has been initiated. Now, I have no ADSL, no second line AND I CANNOT GET THE ISSUE RESOLVED AT ALL. I spent a lot of highly frustrating and unproductive time on 10210 to get it resolved. Eventually I got an SMS to say it had escalated to a fault (569CTK180213) and that since 19/02 it is in hand with the technical department. BUT NOTHING HAPPENS. Why can Telkom not handle such a simple request without it turning into a circus?
