Nokia Asha liquid damage

"Any liquid damage to the LCD negates the warrenty" and this being on a phone that is barely 4 monhts old. Why is it that the Nokia used to be so good but it seems as if the quality of their phones have really deteriorated. Nokia, I won't purchase that brand again.
