Bad, bad 3G signal, everywhere

Easily half the time I want to use my 3G, the signal is either too weak, or it's slower than good old 56k internet.

This is not a specific place, as I move around a lot in Pretoria/Sandton/Johannesburg. However, the worst signal is probably in Pretoria east, Murrayfield, and Sunninghill in Sandton.

I always have to do some strange maneuver to get some reception, and even when the signal is supposedly "full", it still lags hectically.

Even the 2G (Edge) is mostly unusable for anything else than IM.

Very disappointed in Vodacom. This is definitely my last contract with them.
