I have just found out that of the R15/month that I was donating to Doctors without Borders through the addition of this amount to my cell phone bill (as a text message fee), R8 has been deducted each month by Autopage.
I approached Mtn and was told that Autopage is responsible for this.
I find this appalling in the light of the fact that this very worthwhile charitable organisation does such amazing work in South Africa and the rest of Africa.
Badly done Autopage! Your blatant avarice does not carry the Ubuntu energy as we have been asked to do to better our country and our continent. I ask you one question in order to rethink your current way of doing business with charitable organisations - Would Nelson Mandela condone this activity of deducting donations away from such a charity?
Your success comes through what you give back to your country whilst doing business, and this is an area where you could very easily make a difference. i ask you (as management of Autopage) to rethink this protocol you currently have and offer a free service to charities instead.
