MTN taken 4 days to convert a contract to prepaid

At the end of my MTN contract, I requested MTN to cancel my contract and convert to prepaid. What they have done is cancel my simcard and de-activated me completely. 4 days later and numerous phonecalls and emails I still have no cellphone service!
