Good news Vodacom... this is the LAST complaint. Yesterday we had no option but to cancel our 3G contract. These are the reasons:

We have had a 3G/2G then again 3G contract for some yrs now. No problems other than that we live in a bad area (wireless) so speed is a problem. So we "piggy-backed" a 2nd contract with MTN as there is a tower near us and I work from home. We thought it offered an option on a bad "VODACOM-HSUPA" day.

The last 3mths we have had terrible bills. Our R149pm contract eventually became R820 this mth! YES, WE DISCOVERED that Cellspice had latched onto us as R7/day and we cancelled forthwith. But even at R7/day this is R210 pm plus R149 which doesn't add up to R820!! The Vodacom agent could not give us REASONS FOR THE HIGH BILL and said he would have to "lodge a complaint". When asked how long it would take to sort out, he could not say. Till now we have NEVER overstepped usage

We were not prepared to wait -maybe months, while getting escalating bills. We had to cancel. We paid over R500 to cancel and still owe VODACOM R820!

We feel there is NO CUSTOMER PROTECTION against unscrupulous companies who can latch on and our money. This should be illegal.
