Telkom ADSL agents a myth?

For the last week and 1/2 we have been waiting for an elusive Telkom technician to come repair our ADSL Line. We were promised that a tech would be round on Thursday and then again Friday and Sunday. No call to apologise for a delay. I have phoned the call centre 10210 many times and get the same answer: The fault has been logged and a technician will be there shortly...
I called this morning and asked to speak to a supervisor. who was in a meeting. is there noone else available in a senior position to assist?
Either we shall wait around for the Mythicall tech to appear or go with another internet ADSL provider.
