I recently took out a contract with MTN, via MTN Direct. Concluding the contract was no trouble needless to say - credit checks and so on were speedily done and the papers signed and sealed. The phone took a little while to arrive, which was slightly irritating, but understandable given that the transaction was concluded during the holiday season. That was where the fun ended however. Since receiving the phone, it has proved impossible, so far, to get the new contract activated. I would not have thought that switching from prepaid to contract would be so difficult, especially in the light of the increased revenue guaranteed to MTN by the contract terms, but apparently I am wrong. I have spoken to MTN 4 times in the last 4 working days, and nobody seems to be able to get this contract activated. Come on MTN! You are really proving the old cliche about taking the customer's money and then ditching him to be valid at the moment. Please can you find someone competent who can sort this problem out and get my contract working so that I can use my new smartphone properly. Thank you.
