Innocent mistake, treated like dirt

In January my salary was paid late and as a consequence my cell c account debit order could not go through. I contacted Cell C as soon as I realised what had happened to inform them of this unfortunate occurrence and asking them to resubmit their debit order request. I was informed that they could not resubmit the request until their records showed that the debit order request had been returned unpaid.

I checked my bank statements and 2 days later again called cell c to inform them that they needed to ask for payment. They informed me that they would resubmit the debit order request and that the money would come off that day.

The next day I received a call from Cell C informing me that as my January account was in arrears they could not approve my application for a modem. When I explained what had happened, I was informed that their response time to such queries is 24-48 working hours and they cannot assist me any sooner. I was further told that if I don't pay my account I can't expect more services. This is the first time in 3 years that my account has been paid late and I did all I could to pay it, and now I am being treated as if I routinely don't pay.
