Product is not according to advertising

I have gotten my samsung galaxy tab 3 7.0 yesterday and according to the advertising the software version is 4.2 android jellybean, but the actual software on the tablet is 4.1.1 . I have tried to do an update but failed as the error says "its a modified tablet and cannot be updated"
