Mtn does not activate simcard after sim swap

I upgraded to a new Nokia 1020 and had to do a SIM swap to a new micro SIM. The person at Mtn in Mimosa Mall who did the upgrade there said it would be active in three hours. That was Wednesday 11 December 2013. After two days I started Phoning the Customer Care lines and also contacted their on-line Customer Care. They replied that no sim swap process could be found on their system. But I received a SMS already on that Wednesday to say that it was received and being processed. Why can I not get an activation??
