Credit score ruined over closed account & 25 cents

I have just discovered I have a poor credit score and cannot be offered a credit card. I found this strange as I have always taken care to maintain an excellent score. Not knowing the reason for the poor score I sourced a credit report and found to my disgust that Neotel has indicated a default on my account which I closed in JUNE 2013. I am now 150 days in arrears - apparently. Neotel tells me I have owed them 25 cents since June! Yes 25cents!!! First of all my account is closed. 2nd of all the moneys owed was on debit order so they should have just debited the 25cents. 3rd of all, they have never informed me of the colossal amount outstanding (simple email would have sufficed). Now I have to wait possibly a month for them to correct this with the credit bureau. Thanks for the service Neotel, I'd expect this kind of behaviour from Telkom which is why I went with you in the first place - lesson learnt. Don't let your inefficiencies negatively impact your current or past customers lives, it's not good for business.
