Why have a credit limit if they cut you anyways

I phoned on the 11th of november to enquire about my "credit limit" and when my connection would be disconnected. The consultant then said I have a R3000 credit limit. I have paid R600 of my account. and that my services would only be suspended if not paid by the 25th of november. This led me to believe that I have enough time to get the outstanding amount and get all paid up. But this morning I get a phone call from my mom that the internet is off. I phone in and they say its now to late to make an arrangement... this is unaceptable as I am in the IT sector I know that this can be done as all is electronic and that my salary is only available on the 28th, and I have stil credit on my credit limit.
Also none of my line cancelation requests to cancel one of my 2 lines seems to have been received not my line speed changed on the one I want to keep.
This needs to be sorted out to my satisfaction before end of business day.
