Refusal of repairing Iphone5 still in Guarantee

Telecommunications

My Iphone 5 is 10 months old and thus still under guarantee. My phone didn't want to charge anymore and I figured out this was a problem with the phones connection and not the cable or charger. I took in the phone to get it repaired at MTN Century City, but because I damaged my sim card slot previously, MTN said that my guarantee is now expired and gave me a quotation for R3500 to fix it. Now, after 3 weeks, the phone has been send back to MTN. In store we discussed that I'm prepared to pay for the damaged sim card slot as it isn't necessary to be fixed because the phone works fine with it as is. The problem however is that the phone doesn't want to charge and is now useless to me. I feel that MTN should give me a new phone as it's still under Apple's 12 month guarantee and I didn't break the phone; it's a manufacturing fault. The attitude of the repair staff is also very poor and unprofessional; the lady I spoke to refused to put me through to the manager and treated me as if I was a child. Surely MTN has higher standards than this. Please contact me so that we can resolve this.
