Cancelation of business telephone line

I Have been trying to cancel my business telephone line since the 1st October 2013 . I first tried to do it at a Telkom branch in Garden Route Mall George. I was told because I have a business line I will have to do via a e mail on a business letterhead. I did that immediately because I sold my business and the new owners took over from 1st October and did not require the phone line. I got the following reply back. Telkom SMBS Retention acknowledges your request.
In order to expedite your request speedily we require
a signed cancellation letter on the company letter head for CC / PTY LTD
Kindly ignore instructions if you have responded with relevant documentation.

Since I have sent them a signed cancellation letter on my company letterhead, I assumed the line will be canceled. I was made aware by Telkom of the fact that there is a one month notice period that I will have to still pay the rent for the line.
I am still waiting for the line to be cut off, and have sent numerous e mails in this regard but no one comes back to me, and I keep getting this stupid message Telkom SMBS Retention acknowledges your request.
I would like it if someone can respond to my E MAILS
