Blackberry Z10 useless after software update

I recently updated the software on my Blackberry Z10 and have since had nothing but problems. First the update spent over 9 hours loading (while plugged into pour source), until I eventually took out and replaced the battery in order to restart the phone.
The phone then worked for an hour, the battery heated up immensely, and then it turned itself off. I took it to Vodacom Constantia Village and they could not help with the problem.

I connected the phone to my PC, had to do a system recovery, and eventually got the phone to switch on.
It's extremely slow and freezes now, and I am unable to make phone calls.
What the K!? I am so ridiculously sick of this device after having it for only 6 months. I want to return it and I never want another Blackberry again.
