Poor performance repairing my Cell phone

My phone was send threw to Vodacom repairs Eastgate on the 4/7/2013 for a lock key. I did received it back after 5 weeks of waiting as soon as I received it back the keypad give problem some of the buttons doesn't want to work. After a week it did get worser and also the old fault started again. On the 26/08/2013 I did send it in again threw Auto page. On the 19/09/2013 I phoned Autopage to find out how far is the repair they inform me that vodacom said that I must pay R1200 before they can repair the phone because there is a liquid damage but the phone did come out of the repair shop with the keypad fault. Why must I pay for that.
