Cell C
Breech of consumer credit act

Telecommunications

I took out a Internet contract with cell c in jan 2011, after many problems with billing etc and after numerous attempts to sort the problem from my side there was nothing more I could do. I have now been contacted by Jm attorneys and informed that I have been handed over. However it is cell c responsibility according to the credit act to make reasonable attempt to contact me to warn me of possible handover which they never did. The attorneys had no problems getting hold of me which proves that I was easily contactable. There is a dispute over the amount of money I'm expected to pay and I want to know why I'm expected to pay almost triple the amount of the total value of the contract... especially when I only had the service for less than 3 months. Because cell c never made reasonable attempt to contact me I expect that they attempt to help me sort this out.i do not want to have to go to the consumer credit regulator and would prefer to sort the matter out directly.
