I had recently applied for a new landline and adsl line around August 5th, I was told by the salesman that installation will happen during the same week. This did not happen. I received sms's on four occasions stating that a Telkom technician will be arriving at the residence. On the 1st agreed date no one pitched, this was an inconvenience for me as I had to arrange for someone to be at the residence. On the 2nd proposed date a technician did arrive, spent 5mins at the residence and left. Upon further inspection after calling 10210, I was informed that there was a cable problem in the area/lack of stock. I escalated the matter via online complaint to Telkom. I received a call with the same response of their being a "cable problem". I then received a sms on the 27th stating that a technician would be arriving, once again, no one pitched. This was followed by another sms on the 3rd of September with the same result and no reply from Telkom.
This is unacceptable. It is obvious that Telkom cannot keep their promises and many consumers are suffering the same fate jugging by their status on hellopeter. I am now considering other alternatives from a different service provider.
