Cell C
Company behaves like Artists

Telecommunications

In May 2013 my father signed up for a Cell C Midnight Browser package at the Cell C shop in Gallo Manor. He asked for the R 189/month package as that was what he had been told was good value for money.

At NO time did they explain to him that there were 2 packages they had on offer. A fact - I only found out about myself when he came to me asking for help.

Turns out that there is a "Top up " package which is R 189/month limited to R 189/month. And a "Post paid" package which is limited to R 2000/month. Quite a difference I would say.

Without any instruction or consultation on the package types he was signed up to the "Post Paid" solution. And was very surprised to hear that he owed them R4000 for 2 months usage.

I don't know about you but I find that this is very akin to being a artist. Selling someone on only half the story and it does not adhere to the CPA which - irony of irony - Cell C boasts on their website. So either their policy is to or their staff at their stores are badly trained.

I was always told to be careful of hidden clauses, but to have to deal with artist behaviour preying on the non technical savvy is just criminal.

Shame on you Cell C
