Vodacom
Free subscription till tower built

Telecommunications

On the 7th of July, after a series of complaints, Ms Hajwanie from Vodacom, admitted that I live and work in a "Vodacom weak signal area", and offered me free subscription until a new tower was installed in my area, Loevenstein in the northern suburbs of Cape Town. She could not commit to a date for the tower, and because I use my phone almost exclusively for business, I turned her down and on the next day, 8 July 2013, I sent them an email requesting to be relieved from my contract, so that I can I move to a supplier who provides proper service in my area. They promised that someone from their Onyx desk, the top end customer area that I fit into, would contact me. True to form, and in line with my overall Vodacom experience over many many years, no one made contact re my request to be released. Repeated requests to be linked to a senior Vodacom employee also met with a zero response.
