Cell C constantly switches between 3.5G and EDGE

Since I have been with Cell C (few months), I have been experiencing the switching between 3.5G (HSPA) and EDGE on my mobile phone. I thought it was my phone, but put same sim in another phone and it did the same thing. I does not matter if there is a connection to the internet or not, it will switch between the two every few minutes. I am irritated by this, as edge is slower than 3G and I know that I am in an area that supports HSPA.

I will appreciate if a rep. can reply to this and enlighten me on why this is happening!
