Vodacom
On contract change MY OWN CASH forfeited

Telecommunications

I have a Vodacom contract via Nashua Mobile and have had for well over 10 years. The last contract I had was a "family top-up" and I upgraded to a "Smart Lite" contract at end May. I had prepaid funds into my contract during May as I was travelling in Namibia and wanted to ensure I would have sufficient funds to keep my "roaming" activated.By 30 May I still had R300 of MY OWN CASH paid into this account/cell number and assumend this would be carried over to the new contract as it was NOT the "free calls" value of the old contract - it was paid by me in HARD CASH. I was horrified to find out that ALL money, irrespective of where it came from is forfeited on and "upgrade" and migration to a new contract! Nashua Mobile says this is a Vodacom policy and Vodacom says "I should speak to Nashua Mobile"... like playing tennis while I'm treated as the tennis ball! What I'd like to know is WHO has the benefit of MY cash? Surely this is plain?
