I lost my phone, a prepaid Nokia E5 bought at Edgars. Edgars replaced my phone with a similar phone as I had insurance. I got a Nokia Lumia 520 and ended up taking it on Vodacom because there was no MTN stock of the phone.

Since the new phone comes with a Vodacom Microsim i decided that i would go with Vodacom but port my number.

When I went to Vodacom they advised that they can only port an active number so I should buy an Mtn simcard and do a sim swop first.

I called Mtn 173 and because I couldnt provide the last dialled numbers they said they cant swap my sim. I tried to explain that because i have another Vodacom contract, i only used the Mtn number for incoming calls and data and therefore could not recall numbers i dialled often. The supervisor i spoke to said i should get an affidavit and go to a store.

I went to the Easgate store and they said they know nothing about affidavits and could not help. The guy was quite rude.

What does MTN want me to do really?

Is this how you treat customers who have supported you for so long? Offer no help, tell customers about affidavits and then be rude to them?
