BAD SERVICE RECEIVED FROM MTN

Telecommunications

My complaint is regarding my Blackberry 9360 which was sent in for repairs on Monday, July 8, 2013 by the Blue Route store. I received a call today from the Repair Center not to advise me that this phone was ready for collection, however to tell me that my phone will only be fixed once an amount of /-R1000.00 was paid in by myself in order to repair the "physical damages" on the phone.

What I don't understand is that this is a contract phone which I have only had since March 2012 and when the phone was given to the store it was in perfect working condition. The only problem it had was that my SIM card was not reading, and I was unable to access functions such as calling and texting as my messages would not go through due to insufficient network coverage. This was the only problem that needed fixing, not any "physical damage" of which I was not aware there was any. If this is the case and MTN does not want to fix my phone, I do request a new one or I will have to request that my contract be reworked in order to remove the R60.00 which I am paying for the BIS included in my package.

As a customer who has moved over from a previous network, I was truly happy with my move until this
